Every year, representatives of the Southampton Rotary Clubs lay a wreath at the Southampton Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday to honour the fallen and the veterans who gave Service Before Self.
This year, the honour fell to Southampton Solent Rotarians Peter Hall and Alan Williams. Both took part in the procession from Guildhall Square to the Cenotaph, and Peter Hall stepped up to the Cenotaph to lay the wreath.
In the afternoon, members of Southampton Solent Rotary attended the Remembrance Service at the Southampton Old Cemetery where wreaths were laid by City and Military representatives at the Cross of Sacrifice and the Belgian War Memorial.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
